Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics refers to custom-made devices designed to provide support, comfort, alignment, functional independence and pain relief.
What are Custom Orthotics?
Orthotic devices can be used throughout the body (neck, spine, shoulders, hands, knees, ankles and feet).
These made-to-measure devices can be splints, braces, insoles, specialist shoes or boots which are used to treat a variety of conditions such as pes planus (flat footedness), plantar fasciitis, high arches, cerebral palsy, hammer toes, stroke patients, those with multiple sclerosis and scoliosis. Orthotics can also be used to treat athletes looking to optimise foot alignment, providing shock absorption and preventing injuries caused by repetitive motions or inadequate support.
We work with both the NHS and Private Orthotists to prescribe, develop and fit a variety of insoles, splints, aids and braces.
Types of Custom Orthotics
There are two main types of orthotics, these include: Upper-Limb Orthotics and Lower-Limb Orthotics.
Upper Limb Orthotics
Devices designed to support and assist the upper limb, including the arm, wrist, hand, and fingers. They are used to address various conditions, injuries, or disabilities that affect the upper extremity. Upper limb orthotics can provide stability, protection, and assistance to improve function and enhance quality of life.
Solutions include; thumb inhibition splints, wrist splints, elbow braces, resting hand splints, shoulder supports, DM orthotics, Job Skin Products and a variety of other aids and appliances.

Body and Lower Limb
Devices designed to support and assist the body and lower limb, including the hip, knee, ankle, and foot. They are used to address a variety of conditions, injuries, or disabilities that affect the lower extremities. Lower limb orthotics can provide stability, alignment, protection, and assistance to improve mobility and enhance quality of life.
Solutions include; insoles, braces, ankle foot orthoses (AFOs), dynamic ankle foot orthoses (DAFOs), knee ankle foot orthoses (KAFOs) and a variety of other aids and appliances.
