Whether you have a muscle or tendinous sprain, strain, tear or fracture. We have a team of adult and paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapists who will be able to help.
You may have a diagnosed and undiagnosed injury or condition, be pre or post operative, acute or chronic condition in nature. Your injury may have come on progressively, happened at work, home, be age or sport related. With our collective specialist knowledge will be able to help.
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy involves the treatment of injuries and conditions which affect muscles, joints, and soft tissues.
Our aim is to thoroughly assess and treat the injury or condition using evidence-based methods. To set realistic and achievable goals. To provide hands on proactive and preventative treatment methods. Encourage self- management strategies where possible. To improve function either through improved flexibility, pain reduction or strength.
Treatment may involve:
- Manual therapy including soft tissue release, massage, mobilisations, facilitation of movement and muscle energy techniques
- Prescribed exercises may include stretching, strengthening and posture control
- Desensitisation techniques
- Movement analysis and gait re-education
- Scar management
- Kinesio taping
- Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
- Orthotic/ Podiatry recommendations and referrals
- Hydrotherapy
- Acupuncture (Paediatrics only)
- Yoga
- Pilates
The rehabilitation time of your injury / condition will vary depending on the type of injury, severity, location and whether its acute or chronic.
